Term 3
Students have received a lot of Notices.
These are the notices / money that needs to be returned to school

1.  Stu Duval - Pay $4 before Thursday the 27th of September

2. Athletics notices
All students received an Athletics notice. Please sign the permission slip and send it back to school as well as the parent help slip.  We really need some parents to help, otherwise we can't have the athletics day.

3. EOTC
$40 to be paid as well as permission slip and parent help slip to be completed. We also need quite a lot of parent help during EOTC otherwise the students won't have transport to the trips.

4. Calendar Art
The students painted Pukeko's for the Calendar Art. Come and have a look if you would like to order one.


Week 10

Book week

Don't forget about Book week. Keep your eye on the notices. 


Remember to pay your $4 to go and listen to Stu Duval.


Week 6
Friday is Pukeko Team Celebration. Room 1 will be sharing some of their writing.

Book week is coming up in Week 11. We are all very excited about it. We have got a special guest coming to tell stories to everyone. Remember to send your slip for Stu Duval back to school with $4. It is something you cannot miss out on.

The EOTC letters has gone home too. Please remember to fill that out and sent the money in an envelope to school. We also need a lot of parent help during that time. Please let us know if you can help.


Week 5
The speech finals will take place on Monday the 20th of August at 1:20pm in the Library.

Week 3
This week Students need to finish writing and practising their speeches. Their speeche need to be at school on Monday the 6th of August and you need to be ready to present your speech.  I will pick 3 -4 students to present their speech each day from Monday to Friday. One year 3 student will be chosen to go through to the Year 3 and 4 speech finals that will take place on Monday the 20th of August.

Week 1

We will be holding the annual speech competition in week 4 and 5 of this term. During Weeks 1, 2 and 3 we will be learning how to write a persuasive speech. 


Week 6
Remember about Teacher only day on Friday.
There will be no Field of Dreams swimming this Friday due to Teacher Only day. Then we have two more weeks of swimming.


Term 3 Week 3

Just a reminder that the Year 3's need to bring their togs to school every Friday for Field of Dreams swimming.

Week 9

Celebration this week is the Kiwi Team

Lots of students without hats at the moment. Please make sure your child bring their hat to school until the end of term 1.

We started with Cross Country. We need some parent helpers with the Cross Country day in Term 2. It would be great if some of our Room 1 parents are able to help out on the day.

Reading Eggs
Our Reading Eggs free trail is finishing this week. Please consider to join you child for $20. We would like to continue as much as possible with this program.


Week 8
It is travel week. We would like to see how many of our class can walk to school this week. If your child has walked to school they can put their foot onto our classes big walking foot.
Surprise - Maxx the Pukeko is coming to visit us Friday morning from 9am - 9:30am. Come and enjoy it with us.
Celebration: This week is our turn for celebration. We are celebrating the music that we learned with Mrs Fourie. Please come and look how much fun we have during music.


Week 6
We urgently need some more volunteers for the Gala. Please see if you can make a time on Saturday the 10th of March to come and help out with the Gala

On Thursday the 8th of March we are having the Pukeko Craft day. Please make sure that you child bring everything they need to create their crafts to school on Thursday.


Week 5
GALA TIME AGAIN


In two weeks time we have our Reremoana School Gala. 
As a staff we wanted to get the students more involved in the Gala. 
We decided that we are going to let the students be creative and feel part of the Gala Hype. 
The Year 2 students are going to create a Vegetable creature or/and a miniature garden. 
The Year 3 students are going to create a Vegetable creature or/and a Vaseline Sand Saucer. 
The Thursday (8 March) before the Gala students are going the get the opportunity to make their different creations. On the Friday the creations will be judged and there will be a winner, second place and third place announced on the day of the gala.
Some of the preparation need to happen at home to be able to make the creating day a success.
Each student has to supply everything they will need to make their creature, garden or Sand Saucer.
Please start early to collect these goods so that your child will have everything they need on Thursday the 8th of March.
Year 2 students 
Miniature Garden
We will supply trays and sand for the miniature gardens
  • They need to design their gardens at home as part of their Week 5 homefun and write down everything they will need to make their garden with. They are only allowed to use biodegradable items. Each garden has to have a theme. 
  • These items need to be brought to school on Thursday the 8th of March.

Vegetable Creatures
Toothpicks will be provided at school
  • The students need to design a vegetable bug or animal and use only fruit or/and vegetables and write down everything that they need to bring along.
  • If students want to have some fruit or vegetables cut please cut it before hand. We will not do ANY cutting of vegetables or fruits on the day for safety reasons.
Year 3 students
Vaseline Saucers
Plates will be provided at school for the students
  • Students need to design a pattern and need to plan what biodegradable items they want to use for the pattern
  • They need to bring vaseline along on the day as well as the items they will need to use for the saucers.
Vegetable Creatures

I want to ask again that all cutting of items happens under parent supervision at home. We do not want to do any cutting on the day please. We need to look after the safety of your child

Week 4

This week will be full of assessments. We will have maths, reading and writing assessments happening this week in Room 1.

Week 3' Upcoming Events

On Wednesday February 15 we've got Meet the Teacher, Picnic and Orienteering Evening.
This is a great opportunity to meet me if you haven't had the opportunity to come and say 'hallo'.
I will speak a little bit about Room 1 and how we operate in Room 1.

We will have two sessions available. One from 4:45 - 4:55pm and one from 6:00 - 6:10pm.

The program for the evening looks as follow:

4:45pm - 4:55pm - Meet the teacher (Session 1)

5pm Individual Orientering

5:30pm Family group Orientering

6pm - 6:10pm Meet the teacher (Session 2)

6:15pm Sharing the results of the orienteering.

Friday February the 17th
- Mufti Day for Gala Friday
Room 1 needs to bring Packets, eg. Cereals, biscuits, pasta, rice, flour, sugar, crackers, etc.

Hats
Please remind your child to bring their hat to school to protect them from the sun.

Book Bags

It is very important that students have their book bags at school everyday. Please remind them to put their book bags in their school bags every day.
